Continuing our cooperation with an international media and communications group Independent News & Media we prepared complete set of XHTML/CSS templates that were used to build new The Independent website.
As with Irish Independent our job was not only to turn provided designs into web standards compliant code but also to assure the proper use of all frontend focused solutions to achieve the best possible accessibility and usability of a new website.
The Independent website finally offers all features that modern online newspaper should do. Users are able to subscribe to RSS feeds, check Most Read, Emailed and Commented articles and submit their own photos and comments.
Implementation of Proximic, a dynamic cross-linking solution, allowed users to have easy access to all related news, articles and background information across the web.
